Kevin Wiley, an experienced leader in technology development and management, has joined the Nelnet Business Solutions (NBS) team as the Chief Operating Officer with special focus on the NBS higher education market. Wiley will lead operations, sales, marketing, and product management for the NBS higher education division and the NBS payment processing business. The higher education market is seeing significant growth as Nelnet Business Solutions provides payment processing solutions to a customer base of nearly 1,000 institutions. The growth is being fueled by the development and deployment of new and additional services and by the addition of many new clients across the United States. In addition to work in the United States, NBS is also beginning to explore opportunities in other countries.

Wiley has significant experience in the world of technology ranging from systems designed for interface with users to the development and deployment of systems in other countries. A graduate of Nebraska’s Creighton University, he has held positions in Nebraska, Florida, California, the Caribbean, South America and New Zealand.

Wiley joins an experienced team in the NBS Chicago office including David King who will continue to lead the higher education and payments technology teams. Wiley’s experience in the entrepreneurial efforts of new companies will be invaluable as NBS continues to grow its business in the area of payment processing for a variety of new clients.

The Nelnet unit provides payment processing and other services for educational institutions from pre-school through graduate school in all 50 states.
