Nelnet payment technology provides California community college students with a secure and mobile way to view bills and pay fees
LINCOLN, Neb. (September 11, 2018) – Nelnet Campus Commerce, a division of Nelnet, one of the leading education services and finance companies in the nation, announced a partnership today with the Foundation for California Community Colleges (Foundation) to become an eCommerce provider through the Foundation’s purchasing program, CollegeBuys. The five-year partnership between Nelnet and CollegeBuys provides all 115 California community colleges with access to Nelnet Campus Commerce’s payment processing solutions, providing students with a secure and convenient way to pay their fees on the go.
“This partnership offers our colleges and students a simple solution that saves them time and money,” said Jorge J.C. Sales, executive director of program development at the Foundation. “Technology solutions such as this are critical to creating efficiencies and allowing students to focus on achieving their educational goals.”
The partnership is an expansion of services provided to districts like West Valley-Mission Community College District located in the Silicon Valley. In early 2017, West Valley-Mission Community College District worked with Nelnet Campus Commerce to implement Nelnet’s payment processing solutions in under 12 weeks on their campuses. The new system’s modern interface and paperless billing was positively received by students.
